Bryce Dallas Howard joins Curry Barker's mysterious new horror movie

Bryce Dallas Howard is set to star with Aaron Paul in Anything But Ghosts.

The Jurassic World actress, who has appeared in the likes of Rocketman, Argylle, The Village and The Help, is part of the cast in writer and director Curry Barker's upcoming horror flick.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Howard will appear alongside Paul and Barker in the movie, while the latter's co-writer and frequent collaborator Cooper Tomlinson is also set to star.

Plot details are being kept under wraps for the mysterious project, but production wrapped on the movie earlier this month.

The film made waves when it was first announced in September 2025, marking the first collaboration between horror producer heavyweights Jason Blum and Roy Lee.

At the time, he told Variety that the movie was about "con artists posing as ghost hunters", but declined to give any further details.

The film has been acquired by Focus Features, who will also release Barker's Obsession.

Speaking to the same outlet about that project, he teased: “This movie taught me how to collaborate with more people. I’ve always been scared of letting too many people in because I’m very precious about my vision.

"But I’ve learned that if you can get your vision and passion across to them, they tend to give it back, and then it becomes a powerhouse of people that are passionate about the same thing.

"That’s what we had here. The movie did not have to turn out the way that it turned out, but a lot of people put their heart into it.”

Barker and Tomlinson first rose to fame with their YouTube comedy sketch channel That's A Bad Idea, while the former was behind $800 viral horror film Milk and Serial.

As well as Obsession and Anything But Ghosts, Barker has also reached an agreement with A24 which will see him reinvent The Texas Chainsaw Massacre.

The franchise is close to his heart, and the 2003 remake had a big impact on him as a viewer and filmmaker.

He told Dread Central: “The Texas Chainsaw Massacre… specifically the one where they pick up the hitchhiker. And she gets in the car… and…

"I was way too young to watch that, and it stuck with me. That’s the kind of fear I’m trying to do — that level of fear, you know?”
